TITLE: Title I Tutor

 

LOCATION: Our Lady of Unity

 

JOB GOAL: 

To serve as an instructional support to classroom teachers assisting students in acquiring Tier 2 and Tier 3 support in math and literacy (additional practice and reinforcement of skills already taught in Tier 1 instruction by the regular classroom teacher). 

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Support classroom teachers and students
  • Provide tutoring practice to students as assigned by teachers (individual or small group)
  • Report regularly to principal and classroom teachers
  • Attend all building staff development and district workshops with teachers
  • Implement instruction using district standards, benchmarks and indicators applying basic learning conce

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

Have an Associate’s Degree or pass the Para Pro Exam 

Work collaboratively with teachers to support building and district goals in the areas of literacy and math with small groups of students.   Participate in building and district offered staff development; workshops

Effective oral and written communication skills

Good Attendance

 

COMMUNICATION / ORGANIZATION: Maintains communication with school personnel, and parents/guardians to enhance cooperative action which will meet the educational needs of students.

Utilizes existing technology effectively in the performance of duties.

Performs other related work as required.

REASONING ABILITY:  Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.  Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS:  Ability to read and analyze and interpret general professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.  Ability to write reports, general curriculum and learning theories, correspondence, and protocols.  Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of administrators, staff, parents, students, and the general public.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:  Part-Time Hours

 

SALARY:  Based on Salary Schedule

 

REPORT TO:  Building Principal
