TITLE: Dean's Secrtary

 

LOCATION: Schlagle High School

 

JOB GOAL: To assist with general office duties and to run and efficient and friendly front office.

 

 ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Type documents/letters for Assistant Principal
  • Process “A” and “B” Suspension letters
  • Take notes for “B” hearings and process “C” and “D” forms.
  • Enter extra duty coverage in GEM, print time sheets and get required signatures.
  • Prepare bus requests fro athletic activities.
  • Maintain student discipline files for two SLC’s.
  • Serve as backup for switchboard as needed.
  • Greet parents as they enter the office, directing them to the appropriate personnel.
  • Update discipline in student system on a daily basis.
  • Update Daily Bulletin and print copies for staff (rotating on a monthly basis)
  • Other duties as assigned

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Job related experience with increasing levels of responsibility is required.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 60 college hours or pass Districts Aptitude Test
  • Procures supplies and materials for the purpose of maintaining availability of required items.
  • Proficiency with computer and commercial software
  • Performs other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit.

COMMUNICATION / ORGANIZATION: Maintains communication with school personnel, and parents/guardians to enhance cooperative action which will meet the educational needs of students.

 

Utilizes existing technology effectively in the performance of duties.

 

Performs other related work as required.

              

REASONING  ABILITY:  Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.  Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS:  Ability to read and analyze and interpret general professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.  Ability to write reports, general curriculum and learning theories, correspondence, and protocols.  Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of administrators, staff, parent, students, and the general public.

SALARY:                                    Based on KCKPS Salary Schedule

 

REPORT TO:                              Assistant Principal, Principal’s Secretary

 

EVALUATION:    Performance of this position will be evaluated in accordance with the Board of   Education policy on evaluation.
