TITLE: District Athletic Event Supervisor

 

LOCATION: Washington High School

 

JOB GOAL: The District Athletic Events Supervisor is responsible for overall oversight of District spaces during scheduled events to ensure smooth operation and execution.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Responsible for event day stadium and equipment preparation, set up, tear down, and securing the building or location
  • Responsible for timely maintenance and preparation of event/practice fields to provide appropriate and safe conditions for players
  • Reports, removes and/or secures any unsafe equipment and ensures proper operation of areas such as scoreboard, clock, microphone, and speakers
  • Assist in storing/winterizing and inventory of equipment
  • Responds to event day needs regarding field maintenance
  • Provides event day communication to referee’s and visiting team regarding directions around the building or location and parking
  • Coordinates with necessary departments for smooth operation such as the Head Custodian regarding lighting and Physical Properties for field maintenance
  • Serves as contact for event logistics with outside agencies for field/event space usage
  • Partner with coaching staff for scheduling and game day operation updates
  • Mark/paint natural grass, baseball field, and track
  • Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma required
  • Valid Driver License and reliable transportation
  • Experience working with sports equipment set up
  • A demonstrated knowledge of mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability
  • Ability to operate riding or power mower, power tools, hand tools and landscaping equipment
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work a varying schedule including evenings and weekends

 

COMMUNICATION / ORGANIZATION: Maintains communication with school personnel, and parents/guardians to enhance cooperative action which will meet the educational needs of students. Utilizes existing technology effectively in the performance of duties.

 

REASONING ABILITY: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

 

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of administrators, staff, parents, students, and the general public.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 186 Days

 

SALARY:  Position based on KCKPS SALARY SCHEDULE

 

FLSA STATUS:  Non-Exempt/Part Time

 

REPORT TO:  High School Athletic Director

 

EVALUATION: Performance of this position will be evaluated in accordance with the provisions of the Board's policy on Evaluation and Professional.
