TITLE:  Attendance Secretary-Part-Time

 

LOCATION: Mark Twain Elementary    

 

JOB GOAL:

To record, process and maintain records of student attendance.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

High School Diploma or GED

Data Entry Skills

Computer Skills

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Record all student absences and tardies in SILK
  • Process attendance calls from parents
  • Scan sheets
  • Print and distribute Verification Sheets
  • Collect Verification Sheets and make indicated changes
  • Notify parents of student absence, if parent does not call in
  • Work with Home School Coordinator to track truant students
  • Provide attendance reports for outside agencies
  • Key operator of phone master
  • Key operator of copies
  • Prepare copies for teachers
  • Assist Staff with copier problems
  • Assist at front counter, greeting public
  • Cover switchboard for receptionist upon her absence.
  • Keep record of After School Program attendance
  • Other duties as assigned

 

COMMUNICATION / ORGANIZATION: Maintains communication with school personnel, and parents/guardians.

Utilizes existing technology effectively in the performance of duties.

Performs other related work as required.

 

REASONING ABILITY:  Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of administrators, staff, parents, students, and the general public.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:        186 days (Part-Time)

 

SALARY:                Based on USD #500 Salary Schedule

 

FLSA STATUS:       NON-EXEMPT, HOURLY

 

REPORT TO:          Principal’s Secretary, Principal

 

EVALUATION:         Performance of this position will be in accordance with the Board of Education policy on evaluation.
