KCKPS Teaching Fellows Program - Teaching Opportunity for 2020-2021 School Year

 

Have you ever wanted to become a teacher but never took an education course or received a degree in education while you were in college? Do you have a minimum of a Bachelor's, Master's or Doctorate degree from an accredited college in English, Math, Science, Engineering, Technology, Accounting/Finance, Spanish, Business or other content areas? Deadline for Receiving Applications - March 22, 2020

 

Kansas City Kansas Public Schools is actively recruiting for career changers who have an accredited Bachelor's degree, Master's' or Doctorate in the  following subjects: English, Math, Science, Engineering, Computer Technology/Information Systems, Accounting/Finance, Spanish, Business or other content areas to become teachers through the Kansas City Kansas Teaching Fellows program.  The Kansas City Kansas Teaching Fellows program allows you to obtain a Master's of Arts in Teaching degree from an accredited alternative certified program or to obtain a KCK Certificate that will allow you to teach within our school district in accordance with the rules established by the Kansas State Department of Education guidelines for alternative certification teaching programs.

 

Completed Applications, with all required documents, will be considered from September 2019 through March 22, 2020. 

 

If you are interested in exploring your opportunities you may attend an information session listed below and/or complete the application and attach all required documents including:

 

Mandatory Documents (applications will be incomplete and not considered until all documents are received)

 

*Resume - covers your full and part-time employment.

 

*Purpose Letter - a minimum one page document explaining why you wish to teach a diverse student population and what makes you qualified to become a teacher. Include any paid or volunteer opportunities you completed where you currently or previously worked with children in the pre-school to high school age.  

 

*Unofficial transcripts - from all colleges/universities you attended, including community colleges will be considered with the initial application. You may attach your transcripts to the application, or have them sent to Dr. Tracey Nix, Alternative Certification Program Advisor, at tracey.nix@kckps.org.

 

*Letters of Recommendations - you will need three references which should include at least one current or previous supervisor and two colleagues.
