TITLE: Registered Behavior Technician

JOB GOAL: To provide behavior analysis services, behavior analytic consultations, and collaborate with teams to implement behavior intervention plans for Special education students receiving specially designed instruction. These actions are completed under the direct supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). The Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) would provide support and professional learning to school staff, and paraprofessionals in appropriate behavior intervention techniques; support the conduction of assessments and support the development of plans that conform to IDEA, Kansas law and regulations and other applicable statutes and regulation bodies.

REASONING ABILITY: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and analyze and interpret general professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, general curriculum and learning theories, correspondence, and protocols. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of administrators, staff, parents, students, and the general public. Ability to participate in collaborations with school teams whose learners come from diverse backgrounds, and have diverse cultural backgrounds.

SALARY:  Based on KCKPS Salary Schedule
FLSA STATUS: Exempt         

REPORT TO:  Executive Director of Special Education or Designee
Evaluation:  Performance will be evaluated in accordance with the KCKPS Board of
Education policy.
